Yaeger Architecture was commissioned to prepare a parametric (15%) design, a Project Definition Report (PDR), and a 3086 cost estimate for the Physical Fitness Center at Fort Riley, KS through their IDIQ Contract for Military/Civil Design and Planning Services with the USACE Kansas City District. The purpose of the design / 3086 charrette was to achieve pricing information for USACE Planning and Programming Submission Data Package.
The scope of the project was to construct a standard design, small physical fitness facility with installation of energy monitoring and control systems (EMCS) and an Intrusion Detection System. Supporting facilities include all utilities, exterior lighting and control, information systems, fire protection, paving, walks, curbs and gutters, storm drainage, parking for patrons and staff, and site improvements. Sustainable Design and Development (SDD) and the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct05) features were provided. Air Conditioning (Estimated 70 Tons).
The team worked with the program developed by the USACE to create schematic floor plans, elevations, and renderings for the physical fitness facility and a project definition report including site development, building system requirements, LEED checklist and cost estimates.
YAI received an ACASS rating of "Very Good" for their work on this 3086 PDR charette and follow up report.
