In 2007 the State of Kansas approved slot machines at the dog and horse race tracks within the state. YAI was retained by W. M. Grace Development Company, Owner of The Woodlands in Kansas City, Kansas, to immediately design a temporary casino facility on the main floor of their dog track pavilion, retaining all track viewing/ betting activities on the floor above. Working within the available space, the building entry was remodeled, and a new upscale casino floor was designed that includes space for 800 slot machines, a bar, a restaurant, plus support space.
